Volunteering in Aged Care
Are you interested in joining our volunteer community?
At St Basil’s, our aged care volunteers are a valuable resource. The gift of time from our volunteers helps us make each day as special as it can be for our residents.
We give our aged care volunteers meaningful volunteering duties. We treat all volunteers equally and respectfully.
If you’re a volunteer, you might:
- Help our activities officers with the lifestyle and activities program, which includes arts and crafts, cooking classes, group games and a range of bus excursions into the community.
- Spend time with the residents and forge friendships.
- Communicate with residents in a language other than English if you have a second language.
- Help in the gardens.
- Greet visitors at the entry of St Basil’s.
We’d also love to hear from you if you have a special skill or experience that you’d like to share with our residents.
Regardless of your duties, we will provide you with a full orientation and training. You will receive ongoing support and recognition for your contribution to St Basil’s.
We ask that you perform your role to the best of your ability, ask for help when you need it, be accountable to St Basil’s and to remain faithful to the philosophies, policies and procedures of our aged care home.
